Privacy
Policy:
It is important that families feel safe on the
Internet. That safety requires that both parents and children
know and understand what a Web site will do with information
it asks for on screen, and what is happening behind the scenes
as your computer talks with ours.
The owners of this site (Lutheran Hour Ministries)
support the Federal Trade Commission's "Children's Online
Privacy Protection Act of 1998. We do not rent or sell any
information that we collect from people who visit. From
time to time we might ask if information can be used to put
visitors in touch with local churches, but this will never
be done without the visitors authorization, and then only
for adults (those that indicate they are 18 years of age or
older).
More information about children's privacy and
your rights is available at The Federal Trade Commission.
The Commission also has a special, easy to understand page
for parents and children called, Kidz Privacy, and a "Travel
Guide" format overview of the Internet that will help
parents and kids understand and use the Internet safely.
On Screen
For certain activities, this site may request some unique
information that can be used for identifying purposes. However,
it will never collect more personal information than is needed
for the activity. It is important that a child get a parent's
permission before going any further.
To participate in a contest, a first name, age,
and city/state may be required so that an adult-winner, or
the parents of a child-winner, can receive their winning item.
Only when the parent of a child-winner includes his or her
printed name and signature on the form, may we remit the prize
and post the winner online.
Free gifts may also be offered on this site.
Because personal, identifying information is requested on
the order form, children are strongly encouraged to have an
adult complete the form and order the product for them.
If this site identifies a request from a child
for a free product, the personal information given by the
child will be used ONLY for sending (via e-mail or USPS) a
"Parental Permission Form" which must be e-mailed,
faxed or mailed back to us before the product is sent to the
child. Parents can authorize us to send the product or tell
us to remove the child's information from our database. If
no response is received from the parent, the information from
the child will be removed from all storage devices.
